Show de Ópera Rock: Haz un video para el concierto

En el 2010 Miskoc Opera Festival's Opera-Rock Show, Tarja Turunen ofrecerá un concierto titulado "Classic and Divine" acompañada por una orquesta sinfónica y coro. Los organizadores decidieron anunciar un concurso para que los fans realicen un video de 1 – 1.5 minutos de duración para promocionar el evento. Los participantes pueden utilizar fotografías, videos o canciones de Tarja para la realización del video. Los 3 ganadores del concierto serán elegidos por Tarja personalmente.
Premios:
Primer premio: dos entradas para el concierto Classic and Divine, un paquete de regalos de Tarja, y un encuentro con Tarja tras bambalinas (solo para el ganador del concurso).
Segundo premio: dos entradas para el concierto y un paquete de regalos de Tarja.
Tercer premio: dos entradas para el concierto.
Todos los videos enviados serán presentados en el canal oficial de youtube del concierto (https://www.youtube.com/user/operarockshow), así que por favor envíen videos que se puedan usar en youtube (en términos de tamaño y formato). Los videos deben ser enviados a esta dirección de mail: video@operarockshow.hu.

La fecha límite es el 1° de Mayo de 2010.

What will Tarja play at Opera-Rock Show?


In recent days we received the proposed setlist of the Classic and Divine show from the management of Tarja and we have also received the first orchestral scores as well. While the setlist is a secret of course, we cannot stand to share some pieces of information with Tarja fans all around the world.
Maybe it is not an exaggeration to write that Tarja will perform an amazing, really memorable musical program on the stage of Miskolc Ice Hall. The selected songs cover career of Tarja so far, and it seems to us that she really wants to please the fans. This applies not only her own songs, but also the rock covers, we are sure that they will cause huge surprises for everyone. In the classical pieces Tarja will show her other side, that she can sing beautiful and difficult arias effortlessly. We are quite positive that everyone will regret missing the show.
At the same time we would like to draw attention to the fact that the reduced priced tickets can be purchased only for 3 weeks, until the 1st of April at the website of Ticket Express, here. It is worth hurrying up, because tickets sales are exceeding our expectations and there is a real possibility that the show will be sold out before the concert day.

Dice que ya recibieron el setlist y las primeras partituras, que no pueden decir cuales son los temas pero que va a haber muchas sorpresas, que ella quiere complacer a los fans, y que esto va no solo para sus propios temas sino que también para los covers de rock. Y que en los temas de musica clásica Tarja muestra su otro lado y que puede cantar hermosas arias sin esfuerzo.

El Festival Internacional de Opera de Miskolc orgullosamente presenta a Tarja Turunen, en su concierto “Classic and Divine” en el Opera-Rock show 2010. El concierto de la soprano finesa (quien ha sido llamada “la voz de Finlandia” por la presidenta finlandesa Tarja Halonen) va a ser a las 21 hs del 12 de junio de 2010 (sábado) en el Miskolc Ice Hall (Hungría).

Un setlist especial de aprox. 2 hs va a ser compilado por Tarja para este show, incluyendo una selección de sus más amadas canciones de My Winter Storm, gemas clásicas, covers de rock impredecibles, canciones de su carrera con la banda finlandesa Nightwish y canciones de su nuevo album What Lies Beneath. Va a estar acompañada por su propia banda, orquesta sinfónica y coro.

Quienes han asistido a los conciertos previos del Opera Show en 2007 y 2008 o han escuchado los albums en vivo editados saben que podemos esperar un concierto realmente grandioso y único nuevamente en Miskolc en 2010.

World premier coming soon!

We have two good news for the Tarja fans. The concert is declared "camera friendly", which means that you are welcome to bring your photo camera and take as many pictures as you wish.
Other good news is that the extended Reményi Ede Chamber Orchestra and Choir of the Miskolc National Theatre have already started preparing for the concert. As an appetizer we will publish videos of these rehearsals, just like we did with the earlier concerts. After consultating with Tarja-management, two songs were selected for this purpose: the first song will already be well-known for the Tarja fans, and the second one will be a world premiere. This song is from the new Tarja album, What Lies Beneath. Fans from all around the world will get to know the symphonic and choir parts of this song from these videos first time ever! Videos will be released continually in the next weeks, through the YouTube channel of Opera-Rock Show. It will be worth watching!

Estreno mundial pronto!

Tenemos 2 buenas noticias para los fans de Tarja. El concierto ha sido declarado "amistoso para las cámaras", lo cual significa que pueden traer su cámara de fotos y tomar la cantidad de fotografías que deseen.
Otra buena noticia es que la extendida Orquesta de cámara Reményi Ede u el Coro del Teatro Nacional de Miskolc ya han empezado a prepararse para el concierto. Como un aperitivo vamos a publicar videos de estos ensayos, como lo hemos hecho en anteriores conciertos. Luego de consultar al managemente de Tarja, 2 canciones fueron elegidas con este propósito: la prime canción va a ser una muy conocida para los fans de Tarja, y la segunda va a ser un estreno mundial. Esta canción es del nuevo album de Tarja, What Lies Beneath. Fans de todo el mundo van a conocer las partes sinfónicas y de coro de esta canción en estos videos por primera vez! Los videos van a ser publicados continuamente en las próximas semanas, por medio del canal de Youtube del Opera Rock Show. Va a valer la pena verlos!

Translator:
Do you remember the starts when Miskolc staff (?) came to contact you? How did it happen? And when did you decide that you are going to do this show?

Tarja:
I think we were already trying 3 years ago for me to come here and it was not possible at that time. At this time it was a great situation because now this is going to be my first summer concert after being in the studio for such a long time. So it was really really nice to start the summer festivals with this opera festival which makes me thrilled by the opportunity to bring up with the rock concert in an opera festival.

Second Question:
Was it an evidence already when you got the opportunity you were come or what made you..
Tarja:
…made you come?
Translator:
Yes.

Tarja:
Well the fact that it’s an opera festival and the fact that there are not too many opera festivals having in their seasonal program a rock concert and the fact that I’m a classical singer with a metal background and still combining those two things I felt that this is exactly what I want to do, you know it’s a kind of a great opportunity for me to bring my music to the people in a live concert with the elements that are actually in my albums already – symphonic orchestra, choir and band plus making (?) singing(…don’t understand…) So it’s a great great challenge and opportunity.

Translator:
What was the reason for you to get into more metal oriented music?

Tarja:
The thing was that since a little girl since a very young girl I was very involved with classical music and classical studies and so on. And heavy metal came to the picture through people that I already knew some from school from my grammar school-time. I was born in a very small village actually almost everybody knew each other. So it was easy. These guys brought me a demo and because they knew that I’m a singer. Haha! I can sing!! So they brought me a demo and it was not that kind of heavy metal at all. It was kind of acoustic music with beautiful melodies and so on. So that I said “yeah why not? Go ahead let’s try out. But then they found out that of course my voice has developed into more operatic vocals. So the idea of doing metal with operatic vocals was born in studio by an accident kind of. The guys were heavy metal background. I didn’t but they did. And that was mainly the situation that we started doing metal with operatic vocals. It was a challenge for me of course. I took the challenge.

Translator:
They were Nightwish.

Tarja:
No. Nightwish was born at that time. It was Nightwish yes of course. Actually Nightwish was one of the demo songs that were done in the beginning. One song was called Nightwish and then just the invention of a band-name was born.

Translator:
Some readers are interested in if you can ever imagine working together with Nightwish again.

Tarja:
No. It’s nothing that I would feel for it nor I would think they would feel for it.


Translator:
Why do you still sing Nightwish songs? What is your reason for this?

Tarja:
Well I was as the singer in nine years with the band. And I don’t have any problems with the music. I love the music of Nightwish. And I was one of the members in the band for such a long time so I don’t see any reason why not to sing the songs of Nightwish still today.

Translator:
Will we hear songs from My Winter Storm? What songs will you perform there?

Tarja:
OH! That is a secret! *laughs* I can’t tell you yet. No the whole program is a secret. Of course people can expect me to perform majority of the songs are from My Winter Storm because I have this beautiful orchestra, choir and my band performing with me. And the other thing is of course I will be performing some Nightwish songs and some covers, perhaps some surprises for the people for the first time AND some new songs from my new album, that is going to be released in the end of august. So it will be a very nice opportunity for me to first time to show people what I’m working on at this right moment.

Tarja: And of course some classical pieces as well.

Translator:
Have you met the orchestra or choir yet?

Tarja:
Not yet. Today in the afternoon we will study.

Translator:
So do you imagine your future as a solo singer and not as like a part of a band?

Tarja:
It’s an interesting question because to be as a solo artist everything is different than being as a member of a band. When having had that experience already I can tell you that it’s absolutely different – the whole picture. I don’t know to be honest. Today I would not consider starting up a new band or being a part of a band – as a member. I would not feel for it. But I don’t know if tomorrow I would feel differently already. I mean seriously .. ahh they are so different circumstances. But today as a solo artist I’m so happy what I’m doing and I wouldn’t change that happiness I wouldn’t give it away somehow. I wouldn’t mean that it wouldn’t be happy for me to be in a band with nice people around me. But today I have so nice people to work with - every day there is so great supporting, loving – I wouldn’t just give any hint of it away – If I could choose.

Translator:
We have heard that many people are coming from abroad to Miskolc. Do you know from where?

Tarja:
Wuh! I have heard – I read. I’m keeping official blog and writing news for my fans about the – for example now about the album production. What was going on in the studio and so on. So I’ve read the comments and “Yeah I’m coming to Miskolc!” “And I’m from Hungary or I’m from England or I’m from Germany, Finland, Poland, Spain. Even I heard yesterday from USA. So lots of people coming all around and it’s somehow really .. really like surprisingly.. scary for me to see that so many people are coming to see me. They travel so long distance to see me. It’s a magnificent gift that they’re giving me and support they are giving me every day. But it’s a bit scary to think that they will see me on that one particular day. And then they have this imagination of me as a singer. It’s great. It’s wonderful.

Translator:
And what age are the people? (or something like that question)

Tarja:
Many people from different ages. I mean seriously there are families with their children, parents with their children coming and as well as teenagers and even very very aged people. So that is magnificent to see that my audience is not only this – it’s very diverse audience I’m having today. It’s nice. Classical music and rock music they can combine they get together in one place.

Translator:
You have already said that the program is secret of course, but still in what way is it going to be different from a normal concert?

Tarja:
Well first of all the whole setup on stage is different: I can’t carry with me a symphonic orchestra, choir. I already have a huge amount of people travelling with me anyway but not a symphonic orchestra and choir. And that is for the people so see it’s a big stage with a lot of people performing together first thing. And the other thing is that the program is definitely different than any of my concerts before and it’s exciting for the matter of fact that it’s the first time for me to play my new songs. And that is going to be the major thing for me as an artist but although I think for the people coming to listen to the show. And it’s going to be exciting in many ways because of the songs that have never been performed by me before.

Translator:
Will it be recorded in any way like it was in the previous times?

Tarja:
Not this time. I know that Therion for example have done it. But not this time because I felt like this is a festival and if I would be doing a recording or a DVD production, the production I would like myself as an artist to bring up with or to... It would be different. It would be giving me- I should have my production. And this time I felt that I would do it in the future with the new album and having more material to bring along.


Translator translates…
Tarja:
It demands so much production and rehearsing and sound wise rehearsing as well but in a festival it’s quite impossible to do so I would feel for this kind of DVD for example. Or proper recording I would feel that I need to do my own show and rehearsing properly and perhaps do it twice or three times the same show to make a great product for the people. Cause that what represents me as well as an artist I’m a kind of perfectionalist specially today doing things properly.

Translator:
Have you heard any songs from the Epica album or Therion DVD?

Tarja:
Yes. Some songs. I think you- when we met each other.
