You're new one in Delain family, can you say some short words about yourself?
I am Timo Somers, a 19 year old guitar-addict/singer/songwriter from The Netherlands. I studied at the dutch Rockacademie for a year but now I'm concentrating on Delain full-time.
Did you always want to be a musician? Or did you dream about something else?
Well when I was really young I actually wanted to be a scientist or inventor, but I soon noticed I wasn't that much of a 'school' person so that idea went out of the window haha. But when I started playing guitar I knew I didn't want to do anything else anymore.
Have you got your family's support for your work?
Yes, alot. My dad was a wonderfull guitar player and huge support for me. Sadly he passed away this year, but his support always remains there. The rest of my family is really supportive too, so that's great.
At official MySpace and Facebook website you wrote that you are composer. How is usually going your composing process?
I have different ways of composing. Sometimes I hear something in my head, usually a melody, which I then record or when I am lazy I record it to my phone. Then I build a song around that melody (or theme so to speak).
Other times I just start writing, I usually take a drum patern and record a guitarriff over that. Then ideas just start flowing and in no time I have a million layers of instruments and vocals, haha.
Who from Delain was the first one who you liked?
Well, I liked them all from the start
But the audition process almost entirely went through Sander so I guess I 'knew' him the best first.
What activity is your favourite? What are your hobbies?
Playing guitar obviously, singing, writing songs (not lyrics tho, I hate that actually), drumming, etcetc. Apart from that I enjoy listening music, playing some videogames and chilling with my friends. (Lazy boy)
How looks your music past? Did you learnt to play the other instruments except of guitar?
I started playing guitar when I was about 12. I started playing stuff like Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, KoRn, etc. When I became better I joined some bands but that was nothing serious. When I was 15/16 I joined Vengeance and toured with them a lot. When I quit Vengeance I started my own band in which I wanted to handle vocals/guitar and write everything. So I started playing drums and some keys too, to make writing easier. Nowadays I can play nearly all basic instruments.
Who is your model in music and on the other side, in your life?

Apart from that I don't really have any 'idols'. I just really like people who can survive in this world only making music. But also people like pro-tennisers or artists or whatever. Just passionate people who made jobs of their hobbies and do what they like to do.
Our base is located in Czech Republic. When we're talking about Czech Republic, what's the first thing that's on your mind? Have you ever been there?
My first gig ever actually was in Czech Republic, I really liked the country!
Are there places which you would like to visit or which became your favourites?
I'd really love to visit Brazil and south America in general. Costa Rica is my favorite country, I went on holidays there for 3 weeks and it was amazing: great people, great nature, great climate, I fell in love with it instantly.
What's your favourite genre of music? Did you know Delain's music before you joined? Which song of your "new family" is your favourite?
I listen to soooooo much different kinds of music that it's hard to pick a favourite genre. I am not a person that likes all bands in a genre. I mean, I love metal but I hate Metallica for example haha. I am really picky when it comes to bands, but I like all genre's.
I knew Delain's music before I joined, yes. When I was young I listened to a lot of Evanescence, Nightwish, Lacuna coil and such bands. I got to know Delain by then too.
My favorite Delain song would be Stay Forever, love the riff, the compact song itself and it has a nice solo.

- Where do you see your future in 15 years?
I have no idea, I try to live in today as much as I can. But I'd love to be able to make music for a living.
- If you could be something for one day, what/who will it be? And what would you do if you'll one day wake up as your girlfriend?
I'd like to be a random bird for a day, so I could just fly around for a day. Or I'd like to be Martijn, to see what the hell is going on in his head, hahaha. If I'd wake up as my girlfriend I'd probably be in love with myself and play with my adorable boobs whole day
